February 9th.  The Wind S.E. blowing fresh, & very cold and raw, haveing made some snow about 8 this morning . This day the Publick News Papers gave an account that on the 2d Instant that Vile Corruptor Sr. Robert Walpole finding a Majority in the house against him went to the King yt Evening & laid down all his places. vowing never to come again to that house; ’tis Said he is to be made a Peer: But I hope Justice will find him out in whatever House he is in. gave 3s. to relive 3 sick persons that were very poor in this parish.
10th.  The Wind E.N.E. very calm & warm, but cloudy and dark all day. The Market to day at LLanerchmêdd something higher than the week before.
11th. The Wind W. S. W. calm, but very raw & cold, with a mizling rain about 10, the rest of the day was dry & cold, I had all this day a sort of gripeing in the belly, but not very troublesome, about 8 at night I found my Self Aguish & very chilly, went to bed soon after 9 where I had ye most violent Ague fit that ever I felt which held me till near 1 in the morning.
12th.  The Wind W. Sharp & cold, but fair & Sun-shiny, I find my self chilly & aguish all this day, I got up at 9 & took some Elixir of Vitriol fasting, which I repeated again at Noon_
13th.  The Wind N. E. very calm & fair all day; I find my aguish disposition much abated to day, tho not quite as I used to be; I continue taking the Elixir thrice this day, in the morn- fasting, at Noon, and 5 in the Evening, from 30 to 40 drops at a time, & drink a pint and a half of Carduus [thistle sw] Whey hot every night going to bed. pd Ann Parry 2s. 6d. for 15 days s[o sw]ing work ·
