●6 [this is written vertically in the margin opposite this entry sw] January 9th.  The Wind S. very calm all the Morning, some sun shine, but was generally cloudy and dark, there was some fresh gale in the Evening, and blew pretty hard in the night·

i0th.  The Wind S. blowing high all day, cloudy and dark with some__ showers about noon, and made severall ^showers^ afterwards in the night.
iith.  The Wind S. blowing moderately, and raining exceeding hard about 3 this morning, the day afterwards was dry & generally – Sun shiny.
i2th.  The Wind S. blowing moderate, Sun shiny,fair & pleasant all the – morning, but the Evening was dark, overcast & very cold & rained hard in the night.
i3th.  The Wind W. & by S. and blowing moderate, Sun shiny , fair and pleasant in the morning, but the Evening was very cold, dark and cloudy, but made no rain: gave 2s. Charity to poor people.
i4th.  The Wind S.W. blowing pretty fresh and generally dark weather & cold, My people to day finished the fallowing of the ground for Barley it made exceeding heavy rain almost all this night.
i5th.  The Wind E. & by N. blowing moderate, yet cold & raw,tho it – was generally Sun Shiny most part of this day·
i6th.  The Wind N. E · blowing moderate, yet very cold & raw weather all this day, but dry.
i7th.  The Wind N. N. E. blowing moderate, Some sun shine, but generally cloudy & cold weather & rained on the fall of Night.
i8th.  The Wind E. blowing moderate, but very cold & freezing all this day and a pretty thick frost this morning on the water & a very great hoar frost.
i9th.  The Wind E. blowing ^&^ freezing:hard this day as it did all the last — night & a very great hoar frost this morning also ; Sold Wm. Bevan bâch a Bushel of Barley for 4s. & advanced him 3s. in money to buy B[u sw]tter [Nesta Evans gives 'Butter' sw] to enable him to follow his labouring work ·
20th.  The Wind E. blowing moderate, with a gentle thaw till night when it freezed hard again: not one bit of Butcher's meat to day in LLanfechell Market.
2ist.  The Wind E. calm,Sun shiny & pleasant weather & no hoar frost this morning, but had freezed hard last night; My people are employed in these frosty days in carrying the bottoms of Turf & Peat stacks on part of the great meadow that I plowed this winter under the Orchard Northward that produced no hay but a small kind of Rushes·
22d.  The Wind E. blowing moderate with a gentle frost all day & generally dark & cloudy weather: The Curate preached on Daniel chap: i2th. verse 2d. a very incoherent discourse·
