February 19th. The Wind S. blowing fresh & pretty cold, cloudy and dark, yet continued dry all day; To Day I finished planting all the Trees I intend to plant this year, haveing planted in the banks and the Allys between them of the Willow Plantation 103 young Oak about 2 foot high Some few Wall nut Trees & Black Cherries I likewis planted in the Upper Alley next the East, a few Apple Trees I likewise planted in the Orchard in the Espalier Bank instead of those the Hare had spoiled; two Vines I planted at the Gable End of the Brew house, and two fig Trees, one by the Garden Wall on the Out side on the right hand of the gate, the other at the back of the Parlour Chimney, besides the Eight large Sycamore Trees that I mentioned before of Feb. 17th. & some few Aspen Trees and Alders. Paid Owen Hughes 1s. for makeing me a Breeches– and 1d.2/1 for Buttons .

20th. The Wind S. blowing fresh and cold, but dry and generally Sun – shiny and fair all this day .

2ist. The Wind S. blowing fresh, and generally Sun Shiny & drying well, but the Evening was stormy & so was all the night & made a – great deal of rain from 5 till near 9.

22d. The Wind S. very calm & mild with a mizling rain in the morning, but about 9 the Wind began to blow high which – afterward in creased more & more & blew a rank storm all the rest of the day & I believe all nigh and attended generally with heavy rain .

23d. The Wind S. blowing high &stormy in the morning, but generally sun shiny, and dry all day: the Wind was much allayed in the Evening yet blew very fresh.

24th. The Wind S. W. blowing prodigious high & stormy all day, but more especially in the Evening; about 4 in the Evening it begun to rain, & tho it rained hard I believe for most part of the night, yet the wind was not much allayed .

25th 7● [this is written vertically in the margin below '25th' sw] The Wind S. W. blowing very high, with a driveing smoky rain in the morning till near 8, the rest of the day was cloudy & dark with a sort of wet Mist, but not a rain as before .
