of loose stones commonly called Cerrig y Caws, (and wch. make that place a sort of bank) lie higher than.the rest of the Surface)& cross the Pond almost in the middle from E & by N. to W. & by S. being <about>in 40 yards in breadth, and reaching from the E & by N. side four parts in five to Clygyrog ucha shore. the rest of the Pond (except some places near the shore)is all at this time like a green meadow. Setting — [this is in the margin, opposite this line sw] I Sett to day Tyddŷn y Garreg lefn (exclusive ofCaban) to Rowland Owen now liveing at Ferem for the term of – Seaven years at the rate of 30s a year & ye usuall presents.

25th.  The Wind E. & by N. calm & very hot and sultry from morning to night; The Markett at LLanerchmedd lower – than it was last week . gave 2d. to Old Pocced [there is a line, in pencil, under '2d. to Old Poc' sw] Br[e sw]n to buy Tobacco.
26  The Wind N. moderately calm, hot & Sultry all day, gave leave to severall more people to Cut Turf in LLyn y Gors Rŷdd, where they find & dig up under the Turf Trees lyeing at full Length. those that I saw were Birch, the Bark had still the same colour& texture as when growing

The Wind N.W. moderately calm, but dry hot and scorching; pd. 2s. 6d. for a Side of Mutton of ShadrachEvans, very little corn to day at LLanvechell Market.

28th.  The Wind N.W. blowing very hott & scorching all day. my Servants all this week are, some carrying Sand to Clygyrog ucha, & others opening wet ditches.
29th.  The Wind W. & by N. blowing pretty fresh, hott & scorching No Sermon to day at LLanfechell, tho there was one due.
30th.  The Wind W. & by S. blowing fresh, but very sultry& hott, To day I begun to mow my hay which is very thin.
