December 12th.  The Wind S. very calm and warm, but cloudy & dark, yet dry all day : pd. 6d. for bread , 6d. for Oysters, & 4d. for Whiteings: and gave 10s. 6d. to an old reduced Gentlewoman to provide something for herself that She may with a Chear full heart celebrate the approaching happy Festival of our Saviour's Birth.
13th.  The Wind S. very calm, cloudy & dark weather & cold all day, pd. 1d. for Tobacco, & 1s. 2d. for a hair sive, & 3s. 6d. for 6 pound weight of Candles.
14th.  The Wind S . very calm all day; some sun shine in the – morning, and all the rest of the day was cloudy & dark, and made a mizling warm, soft rain about 9 at night: Pd. is. [1/- sw] for a quarter of Veal & the head & 2d. for fish ·
15th.  The Wind S, & blowing very moderate; Sun Shiny & fair in the morning, and all the Evening was dark with a mizling rain, as was a great part of the night: My people all this week were fallowing fresh ground for Barley; and my Gardiner was planting hawthorn in a hedgeabout Cae'r Fuwch wen in Bodelwyn in Bodelwyn & also Ash at proper distances·
16th.  The Wind S. and blowing fresh with a mizling rain almost all day: The Priest preached on Luke Chap: 2ist. verse 34th.
17th.  ●6 [this is written vertically in the margin below '17th.' sw] The Wind  S. in the morning and raining very hard about 3 a clock which brought the Wind to N.W. all the rest of the day from Sun riseing almost to its setting was sun shiny fair and clear & very pleasant.
18th.  The Wind N. E. very calm and generally Sun shiny , fair and pleasant all day; the beginning of the night was starry & light, and from 8 it was dark and cloudy.
19th.  The Wind N. & by E. blowing very moderate,& not cold in the morning; the Evening very cold, & all the day generally dark: pd. 6d. for bread, 8s. for Butcher's meat & 1s. for Ale.
20th.  The Wind N. E. very calm, cloudy & dark weather all day- cold & raw, but made no rain: paid to a Timber Merchant from Tal y Cafn 3 pounds ii shillings 8 pence for a parcell of round Ash and Alder Trees·
