16th. The Wind S. blowing moderate in the morning, and in ye Evening it blew fresher;all the day was raw & cold . pd. 18d. for a fore quarter of small Mutton, Pd. 15d. for a small Lamb, and 6d. for 2 Lobsters· |
17th. The Wind N. N.W. and blowing very moderately, and raining hard till near 8 a clock, as it did sometime before day excessive hard, for the ground was extream wet and standing pudles on every even ground so that we could not harrow: LLanbadrick Wakes was kept on this day and also a sort of a Fair where cloath woolen & Linnen, Shoes, hats &c were sold, and abundance of – people resorted there, where Servants of all sorts were hired: [there is a line in pencil or another pen under 'rts were hired:' sw] |
18th. The Wind N.W. blowing moderate and not very cold, Sun shiny fair and dry all this day from 7 in the morning, before which time it had made some cold sleet: The Priest preached on Ezec: Chap 33d. vers. iith. |
19th. The Wind S. and blowing moderate, but cold and chilly– and cloudy and overcast all day, and made some driving showers of cold rain about 10 in the morning : To Day I begin to replant the old Garden in Brynnie Duon one half with the large, brown Russia Potatoes, and the other half with our Countrey Potatoes. |
