April 17th.  The Wind W. & by N. blowing something fresh and not very cold, but cloudy and dark generally all day, A poor flesh Market to day at LLanfechell. Pd. Hugh Jones of Hên Blâs Collector of the Land Tax 1L. 7s. 4d being the two last quarterly payments for 1740.
18th.  The Wind N. blowing very high & stormy, & exceeding cold all day. Mr. Bailey was here to day for my Vote — accompanyed by Ld. Bulkeley & Mr. Bodvell, I excused my Self as being under engagements to Mr. Meyrick My people all this week at the same work of sowing Barley. pd Owen Prichd Collector of the Light Tax 6s. 

19th.   ❍10. [this is written vertically immediately below '19th.' sw] 

 The Wind N. blowing high, and very cold all Day, there was a great congregation to Day at LLanfechell Church – tho it was no sermon Sunday; Paid David Williams of Bodelwyn one of the Church Wardens for this parish 3s. 11d. Church mize .

20th.  The Wind N.W. in the first morning, calm & warm, and raining a pleasant small rain from 4 in the morning till 9, when the Wind settled in the W. and blew fresh and cold.
21st.  The Wind N. blowing fresh and very cold & scorching all day, but about the fall of night it was much allayed.
22d.  The Wind W. & by S, dark & cloudy generally all day, but made no rain till near 8 at night it made some small rain for half an hour. To day I heard the Cuckow first this year.
23d.  The Wind W. & by S. blowing moderately, & not very cold, dark & cloudy in the morning; about 10 it cleared up & the Sun shined, and continued so all the rest of the day.
24th.  The Wind W. & by N. calm, sun shiny and warm all day; 
25th.  The Wind W.& by N. very fair warm & pleasant, but exceeding dry: I would have finished sowing Barley to day had it not been for ye superstitious observing this day; Pd. George Warmingham 20s. Wages LLannerchmedd Fair yielded good rates for Milch Cows, that were sold from 40s to 4L. a Cow.
