October 30th.  The Wind W, cold & raw, but dried well this day—– my people all these <days>are fallowing for Barley.To day I ga– -thered and brought in the last parcell of my Apples & pears.
31st.  The Wind N.W. blowing fresh, dry and Cold; the Evening dark & raw with some showers of rain; at the fall of night it begun to rain in earnest, and continued raining hard all the night. a full Markett to day at LLanfechell, Barley sold at 14d a Cibbin, Wheat at 22d.a Cibbin & Potatoes at the extraordinary price of 16d. a Cibbîn.
Novr. ist.  The Wind N.W. blowing very high, cold and stormy with frequent showers of cold driveing raîn; & great floods to day after ye rain last night; about 9 it begun to encrease the storm & by Noon it blew a dreadfull Hurricane, throwing down & tearing ye slates from the Roof of Houses, breaking Hay & Corn Stacks,& continued so till about 5 in the Evening when the Violent Tempest abated, tho it blew hard all the night afterwards.
2d.  The Wind N.W. & by N. blowing high & very cold, but sun-shiny and dry; about noon the wind ecreased and blew very high and extream cold all the Evening and night accompanyed with ______ showers of hail and lightning; The Aurora Borealis of flashing lights in ye North appeared this night which had not been seen some months before .
3d. The Wind N. blowing very high, cold and stormy; Pd. George Warmingham 13s. 6d. in part of his wages; LLanerchmedd Fair proved but very poor to day for Cattle, very few bought, & those at very low rates ·
4th.  The Wind N.E. clear sun-shiny dry & fair, but the wind sharp & cold, & not high, the Effect of the last storm begins to appear; a ship wrecked at Holy head & all the people lost, 2 others they say at Beaumares .
5th.  The Wind E. very calm, but dark & cloudy in the morning, and till 2 in the Evening; sun-shiny & fair from that time till night; To Day I enter upon the 50th.year of my Age; God give me his Grace and health to finish this year & all the rest of my life . Amen.
