June 27th.  The Wind W.S.W. blowing still very fresh, dark & cloudy Weather, a pretty food Market at LLanfechell to day _ we had News from Chester Fair that Cattle & Horses bore a very good rate there, & a great many sold, a very bad Fair for Sheep there[e sw]
28th.  The Wind S.W. & not so high as yesterday, begun to rain about 5 in ye Morning, & continued to rain more or less all day long, & I believe all, or most part of the Night. 

29th.  The Wind S.W. in ye Morning, dark & rainy, cleared up about 10, and ye Wind came to W. Sharp & Cold, remained dry the rest of the Day— received two Chickens more from Pant y Gîst of the same hatch with those I sent to their Walks on the 8th. of this Month, being Chickens of a very 

Cocks [this written in large letters in the margin, pointing at this line sw] good Hen of My Own, and Hafod y LLên Cock, One of which Chickens I sent to David Williams of Pen y Bont, the Colour Sooty dark, White feathers on the left Wing, and dark yellowish legs; Another Chicken sent to Richd. Williams Weaver of Tyddyn y Silied, the Colour light brown back & breast, with Silver coloured feathers in ye back, willow legg'd. both marked liked the former Chickens had the 8th Instant –

30th.  The Wind W. Cold but clear dry Weather, raked a good deal of hay to day the Parson set his Tythe, Caerdegog Tythe being set last year for 3 years, 2 of them yet is to come, William Mathew took the Tythe of LLawr y LLan for 22L. 10s. I paid the Parson 16L. 10s- that I owed for last year's Tythe, I had of him 10s. gift—Clygyrog Tythe was set this year for 8L.13s. 4d. last year it was 11L. The Tythe of Tre Gynrhig set this year for l2L. no more that 10L. bid for Pyllcrach, & hitherto unset.
July. ist.  The Wind S.W. clear & dry windy weather till ii in ye Morning when it made a great shower that drove the people from ye hay, all ye Rest of the day was fair, cold & dry, I had to day 3 men & 2 Carts carrying Stones & Rubbish from the Quarry to mend the high Way in Brynne Duon from 5 in ye Morning till night, & one Cart & 8 hours being my Quantum, this shall suffice for 4 days —
