May 25th. The Wind S. Sun shiny, fair & very warm; grew cloudy and overcast in the Evening , and about 4 the Wind returned back again to N. without makeing any rain: Pd. John Ifan is. 4d. that he had expended at Beaumares infetching home Nancy Wright and her Sister Grace. |
26th. The Wind E. blowing fresh, Sun shiny hot & very scorching all day: Sold five yearling heifers to Wm. Lewis of Bodwrda for 30 shillings a piece , to be kept for him till August, he bearing the loss in case any Accident should happen to them. |
27th. The Wind E. blowing very fresh, sun shiny hot and very scorching all day: The Priest preached on Mat: Chap: 5th. 23. & 24th. verses. |
28th. The Wind E. blowing fresh, Sun shiny and very scorching, & but little dew in the night, & that often hoar & turned into frost by the morning: the late sown Corn & grass look very frightfull, & if rain doth not come soon, without God's extraordinary Provid- –ence, there must needs be a scarcity. |
29th. The Wind variable, changeing & chopping about all day, from E · in the morning till it settled in the Evening at W. & by S. all ye Day was hot, but the heat was natural & not scorching as before: grew cloudy,dark & overcast before night; To Day & Yesterday we planted Broccoli, English Cabbage & Savoy Plants. |
30th. The Wind S. W. blowing very moderate and warm, but not scorching; made fine rain some time before day, & some small rain afterwards about 8: Sowed some Carrot & Radish Seed & planted some Cauly flower plants: pd. 2s. for a Side of Veal. |

W. blowing very moderate and warm, it was generally cloudy & overcast all day, yet made no rain & very little dew: Pd. i5d. for 3 pound weight of Irish Soap, which other years was sold for 9d. this being occasioned by a strict prohibition from bringing any of it over under severe penalties . |
