August 12th.  The Wind N. E. very calm, cloudy & dark all the morning till i0: the rest of the day was generally Sun shiy [there is a line over the 'hiy' sw] & fair: The Priest preached on Rom: Chap: 13th. & the last part of the 13th. verse: Pd. to day 4d. for fish, and yesterday I pd.Hugh Griffith the Tinker 8d. for splaying 4 young sows· pd. to day like wise i0s. to Owen Roberts in part of this Sumer's [there is a line over 'ume' sw] wages.
i3th.  The Wind E. blowing moderate, cloudy & dark generally all day: rained hard early in the morning, pretty dry afterwards till 4 in the Evening but the rest of the day was wet & rainy: Paid Wm.Griffith 2L. 5s. freight for i0 tons of Coal, & 7s. 6d. Port Charges: Delivered him likewise 9s. 6d. to buy me flower in Liverpool, & 2s. I paid him over & above what I had given him to pay for the Coal; in all I paid threepounds four shillings
i4th   1 ❍ [this is written vertically under 'i4th' sw] The Wind E. very calm, and raining very hard in the morning – all the day was generally cloudy & dark, and something cold – in the Evening: My people finished to day opening the ditch that runs through Brynnie Duon from Ceft y Groes to Bryn – Clynni .
i5th.  The Wind variable, from S. to S. E, & E. very calm, cloudy and dark weather; made some rain in the morning early, but from 2 in the Evening till near 8 it rained excessive hard & almost without intermission,& made a great deal of rain afterwards before day:
i6th.  The Wind N. N. E. blowing very moderate, and raining very hard about 6 in the morning; the rest of the day — was dry & some Sun shine:
i7th.  The Wind N. calm, cloudy & dark most part of the day; it was dry in the morning & my people went to the hay, rained hard about 8 & they were forced to leave off, dryed well the rest of the day and they went to it again: pd. Marged uch Huw Morus is. [1/- sw] for a fore quarter of Mutton & pd. Rhŷs Bentir is. 8d. for a hind quarter of Mutton .
i8th.  The Wind N. E. blowing pritty fresh, Sun shiny, fair & drying well all this day: My people all this week divided their time be – – twixt the hay (when the weather permitted)& opening wet ditches Paid Richard ab Wm. Prichard ab Wm. Pugh 1s. 6d. for makeing me a Breeches & mending another·
