July 27th.  The Wind  S.W. cloudy & dark almost all day, & made but little Sun Shine & dryed well this day after the hard rain yesterday: Was to day at LLanerchymedd, Joining with Mr. Lewis to hear & determine offences against the Laws of Excise. Paid 4s. 4d. Postage for Leghorn Letters: & Paid 5s. Duty on Plate. & 6s. 6d. for News Papers·
28th.  The Wind W. calm, cloudy and dark all the morning, cleared up about noon, and all the Evening was Sun shiny hot and dry:
29th.  The Wind S.E. in the morning, calm with some sun shine, came to W. & by N. about noon, grew cloudy & dark & made some rain about 2 in the Evening, but was dry the rest of the day, but shewed little Sun: My people all this week were harvesting the hay, & to day they were carrying the hay from Bodelwyn meadows to Coydan & makeing it into a stack; Paid Call[a sw]n the Excise Officer i4s. being my Composition for Malt & Candles·
30th.  The Wind E. blowing very fresh, hot & sultry; Sun shiny till 3 in the Evening, and the rest of the day was cloudy & overcast: The Curate Priest preached on Ecclesiastes Chap: 2d. verses i0&ii.
3ist.  The Wind E. blowing pretty fresh and raining hard without any intermission till 5 in the Evening: the rest of the day was dry·
August ist.  The Wind E. calm, cloudy & dark and raining incessantly all this day and very hard all the Evening and night·
2d.  The Wind S. S. E. blowing moderate & raining about 5 in the morning; the rest of the day was dry, and the Evening Sun shiny fair & sultry: pd. 2d.2/1 for a scyth whetsone, & is. [1/- sw] for carrying Sugar from Chester to Randle the Carrier.

The Wind S. calm, cloudy & dark for the most part, but extream hot and sultry, and continued dry all this day which aforded my people work enough to dress the hay that was in very bad order after the great rains that fell the days before. 

4th.  The Wind S. & by E. sometimes very calm, & other times blowing moderately, but all the day it was excessive hot & Sultry tho it was generally very cloudy & overcast.
5th.  The Wind S. blowing moderate, Some Sun shine, but generally it was cloudy & dark & some little rain in the morning: pd. is. [1/- sw] for a Side of poor Venison for the servants·
