July 9th.  The Wind N.W. blowing pretty fresh, sun shiny & drying well all day: a blessed Day for the hay; a great deal of it dressed to day & made into big Cocks·
i0th.  The Wind S.W. & blowing fresh, cloud & dark all day with some - rain in the morning, but it rained exceeding hard most part of the Evening and night: Pd. Rhys Bentir 2s. 6d. for Meat, some of it I had last week: pd. Shadrach is. 3d. for a quarter of Meat also. and 2d. I paid for fish.
iith.  The Wind S. W. calm, cloudy, dark weather, and drying very little and nothing done to day in the hay; sent to Rhys Prys of LLanerch - –ymedd for the following things.(viz) 2 quarts of Linseed Oyl cost 2s. 2d. 6 pound of White-lead-paint cost 3s. five yards of Clock li[n sw]e cost 5d.– half a dosen drawer drops with wood screws cost is. [1/- sw] a pair of Butt hinges cost 3d. Pd. 12s. for 8 quarts of Rum Shrub· [a drink of rum with sugar and orange, lime or lemon juice added sw]
12th.  The Wind S.W. blowing fresh, cloudy and dark weather, yet made no rain, but dryed well all day considering the Sun did not appear·
13th.  The Wind S. W. blowing fresh, cloudy dark weather all day, but made no rain till 5 in the Evening, when it rained very hard from that time– till after 7 at night.
14th.  The Wind S. W. blowing fresh, Sun Shiny, fair and drying well all day; grew cloudy and dark about 6 in the Evening, & made some rain in the night, for it was very wet the next morning.
15th.  9❍ [this is written vertically in the margin below '15th.' sw] The Wind S. W. blowing fresh & generally Sun Shiny, it was so wet this morning, which together with driveing scuds that threatened rain that it was near noon before they went to the hay:
16th.  The Wind S. W. and little of it, generally Cloudy & dark, but dry all day – Pd. Andrew MacKerry a Scotch Pedlar 12s. for 4 pair of thread Stockins and 27s. for Cloath to make Anna Wright shifts : & [4 sw]s. [Nesta Evans gives '4s.' sw] 6d. for a yard of Lawn to make her Ruffles.
17th.  The Wind S. and little of it, cloudy & dark generally all day,& raining about 9, and rained a great deal on the fall of Night till far in the night– My people every day in the hay when rain did not hinder them, but that was very often: Paid Rhys Bentir 3s for a side of Veal & 10d. fora quarter of He goat . pd. Shadrach 1s.6d. for a quarter of Mutton .
18th.  The Wind S. blowing very moderate, drying well & for the most part Sun– Shiny, & warm all day : a very good day in the hay & a great deal got - together ·
