Davies to LLysdulas to see My Brother Lewis who I was told yesterday was very sick, God of his Mercy grant I may hear of his recovery, being my onely old & faith full friend - now left me in my Old age ! Upon the return of William Davies I found the report was altogether false & that he was preparing to go on Horseback to LLanerchmedd to prepare for Miss Jane LLoyd's Burying (he being her executor ) which is be too Morrow privately. Extraordinary and unusuall weather for cold & blasts in this time of the year! it made such a thick hoar frost last night that it blasted & blackened My Mulberry Trees & the Potatoes, And what is wonderfull My Orange Tree was not hurt: Paid for 5 Gallons of Brandy 2i shillings at the rate of 4s. 3d. a Gallon. |

The Wind W & by S. dark cloudy weather & raining early in the morning as it did most part of last night: Sent the Girls to School & gave them 1s. apiece; the Servants & horses cost in Town 1s. 2d. Sent Hugh Prys the Shoe-Maker with a Cock to a Cocking at LLanelian for a Sow, it cost me there 4s. and my Cock won the Prize : |
