January i2th. ● 2 [this is written vertically opposite this entry sw] The Wind S. W. blowing moderate, some sun shine, fair & pleasant, but very wet, haveing rained exceeding hard for most part of last night , and made severall showers this day also.
i3th.  The Wind S. W. blowing moderate, but very cold & raw, attended with frequent showers of rain.
14th.  The Wind N. E . blowing fresh & cold & drying well with- some frost this morning on the water & a good deal of Sun - shine this day .Gave Roger Hughes ye Clark 5s. Xmas box.
i5th.  The Wind N. blowing moderate, but freezing all this day as it did pretty hard last night: Paid Wm. Callen ye Excise Officer is. 5d. duty for Candles; & pd. him also 3s. 6d. money for my third quarter's composition for Malt &Candles.
i6th.  The Wind E.S.E. calm & snowing from long before day & till near 4 in the Evening, by Which time the ground was thick covered, but it melted a great deal this night.
i7th.  The Wind W. & very moderate, melting the snow gently all this day, and in the night it rained had which washed off the remainder of it . No butcher's meat at LLanvechell Markett this day neither: Pd. Thomas Sion Rolant 20s.for 20 quarts of pretty good french Claret, & Pd.him 20s. for 20 quarts of what I think is nothing but Rasin Wine, tho I bought it for french white Wine. pd. him also 8s. for 2 pound of Bohea ·Tea; & 5s. for 3 pound & half of Coffee.
i8th.  The Wind S.W. blowing high, cloudy & dark all day, & attended with frequent showers of cold rain, but not very heavy·
i9th.  The Wind S. W. blowing fresh, cloudy & dark & made some rain; The Priest preached on Luke Chap: i6th. & ist. & 2d. verses.
20th.  The Wind S. blowing moderate, but raining almost all this day– more or less·
2ist.  The Wind N. calm, Sun Shiny and fair, with a prodigious great hoar frost & some frost this morning, & I believeit freezed all this day.
