January 22d.  The Wind E. calm, Sun shiny & fair haveing freezed hard last night as it does all this day.
23d.  The Wind E. calm sun shiny & fair & the ground very hard, haveing freezed hard last night also as it does all this day ·
24th.  The Wind S. E. pretty calm, Sun shiny & fair, a very great hoar frost this morning & the frost much thicker thanany time this year: pd. Rhŷs Bentir is. [1/- sw] for a small quarter of veal & the head.
25th.  The Wind E.S.E. calm, fair & Sun shiny & freezing hard all day, and the hoar frost very thick on the ground this morning also; My people this week were stocking Gors and carrying them home, the ground being too hard for plowing·
26th.  The Wind E. & by S. calm, Sun shiny and fair, but freezing hard all day and a very great hoar frost on the ground every day . 
27th.  The Wind E. & by N. blowing very fresh & exceeding cold and freezing very hard, & such a prodigious thick hoar frost fell last night that the Sun can't melt by night· 
28th.  3 ❍ [this is written vertically in the margin below '28th.' sw] The Wind E .N.E. blowing very moderate, Sun shiny fair and pleasant, and no great hoar frost this morning on the ground, but what remained since yesterday , yet it freezes gently all this day likewise.
29th.  The Wind N. N. E. blowing very moderate, cloudy & dark for the most part, & tho it did not freez last night, nor brought down any hoar frost, yet it is excessive cold all this day : Pd. Robt. Evans of LLanerchymedd by the orders of Mr. John Jackson Executor to Mr. Jackson late clark of the— Northern Roads i7s. 6d. due for News Papers to the 5th. of this Instant [this is written in the margin opposite this line sw] last January .
30th.  The Wind E.S.E. calm cloudy &dark, yet excessive cold all day
