18th. The Wind S.SW. dark, cloudy weather all the day, yet dry. My servants still employed in thatching the Corn and hay. The market to day at LLanerchymedd lower than the week before the Barley from 12 to 14s a pegget, the Rye from 18. to 19s a pegget. Wheat from 26 to 28s a pegget. |
19th. The Wind S.W. dark & cloudy, about 11 in ye morning it rained a shower, continued dark ’till 3 in ye afternoon, when it rained hard, the rest of the Evening was fair & sun Shiny weather this day I visited my Fir Plantations at Gâllt ddu in Bodelwyn where I planted last March 203 Fir trees, & found 10 to be quite dead, 2 or 3 more sickly, & all ye rest green and flourishing – |
20th. The Wind S. Dark, & rainy weather till past 8 in the Morning, then dry & clear ye rest of the day- a pretty good Markett at LLanfechell, bought a quarter of Mutton for 10d. pd 3d for fish, & 3d for Ale _& lent M.B. [Mary Bulkeley, his daughter? sw] a Guinea to pay Shop bills – |
