January the ist.  The Wind S. dark and cloudy all day, and made a great deal of rain in ye Morning the Evening dry, but very cold, windy, dark & cloudy gave Roger Hughes the Sexton 2s New Year's gift. a great storm of Wind all night, but made no rain, I think.
2d.  The Wind S. blowing high & stormy, & dark cloudy– weather attended with mizling rain, which continued all day & all night.
3d. The Wind S.W. fairer & clearer than yesterday, but made some showers in the Morning, & a good many in ye Night.
4th.  The Wind S. dark & cloudy, & rainy in the Morning, the Evening fair & dry till night, when it grew rainy & stormy again.
5th. The Wind S. Calm in the Morning, but dark & cloudy, & raining till 10 in the Morning, the Evening dry, but still dark & cloudy, but all the night was stormy & tempestuous,accompanyed with a great deal of rain, which continued till day –
6th.  The Wind S. blowing fresh, cold & raw, with a great many showers in the Morning. then fairer till 3 in the Evening, but from that time till day, very stormy & tempestuous & raining most part of the time. past ye Evening with half a Dosen neighbours, & lived merrily till 12 at night.
7th.  The Wind S.S.W. calm & showery all the morning, but all the Evening & all Night long it made as heavy rains as ever I can remember to see.
8th.  The Wind W. fair, sun=shiny & dry all day, The Parson preached on Mathew Chap . 5th. & the first ten verses. the Wind did rise higher about 6 in the Evening, & rained prodigious hard about midnight .
