4th. The Wind S. W. blowing fresh, but not very high & stormy often Sun shiny and all this day was dry: This day being LLanerchymedd fair, I was told that some inpertinent busy fellow ordered it to be proclaimed that a Fair would be annually kept at LLanfechell on the First of May: which Fairs for the most part being idle meetings I think that adding to the number of them cannot be beneficial in any trading Countrey, especially here when they were so numerous before: Paid Marged ’chuw Morus i8d. for a quarter of Veal and the head. |

6th. The Wind S. W. calm, dark & cloudy with a dirty mizling – rain all the morning; the Evening was something dryer – but cloudy & dark: gave John Prichd. Samuel is. [1/- sw] for carrying from Holy head Some Cypress Plants and Roots of large Reeds that Mr. Wright sent from Leghorn, but those and a great many other plants of that Countrey which he had sent were given away by the Master of the Ship, or were afterward embezzld & stolen at the Customs house in Dublin & such as were found were so shockingly abused & trod that these I have I believe will n[i sw]ver grow: Pd. also i3s.
