January ist.  and the beginning of the year i757. The Wind E. blowing fresh and very cold, Sun shiny, yet freezing all day & a very thick hoar frost this morning .
2d.  The Wind E. blowing very fresh and freezing hard all day, tho Sun shiny and very clear: gave Thomas Jones the Singing man who the Priest named for Clark of this parish this day Senight instead of Roger Hughes who is gone to live in Holyhead parish– I gave him I say 2s..6d. for a Christmas box.
3d.  The Wind E. blowing very fresh, generally dark & cloudy & freezing hard all this day & exceeding cold: My poor Sister is very Sick this two days occasioned by a violent cold attended with a fever.
4th.  The Wind E. blowing very fresh & exceeding cold & freezing all this day also, yet sun shiny all day: Pd. is. to the boatmen that did carry a Box with Ann Wright's Saddle from Tal y Cafn to Cemaes.
5th 12 ❍ [this is written vertically in the margin below '5th' sw]   The Wind E. blowing moderate, Sun shiny and clear, but very cold and freezing altogether both day and night: My poor Sister continues very Sick and weak; and I find my self much out of order all this day.
6th.  The Wind E. blowing moderate, generally Sun shiny & clear but exceeding cold, it still freezing both day & night.
7th.  The Wind E. blowing very moderate, Sun shiny & clear, but freezing hard all this day also & exceeding cold & the hoar frost very thick on the ground continuing undisolved from day to day.
8th.  The Wind E. blowing moderate, & for the most part Sun shiny,but something overcast in the Evening, freezing hard all this day also and exceeding cold: My people all this week Were carrying what much I had at Coydan upon Cae'r LLorriau: My Sister ( blessed be my Gracious & Mercifull God ) is quite free from her fever, yet — weak & much tormented with coughing.
9th.  The Wind E. blowing moderate, generally Sun shiny, freezing hard all this day also & exceeding cold all day: The Priest preachd. on Mat: Chap: 7th. & 2ist. verse·
i0th.  The Wind came about 3 this morning to S. blew pretty fresh, & made 2 or 3 small showers, of rain before day, & some in the Day time, yet it freezed hard again in the night . pd. i6d. for 4 bull rush pannels & 3d for half hundred fathom of Sedge ropes ·
