March 25th.  1740The Wind W.& byN. blowing fresh & cold in the Morning; the Evening something warmer & calmer, the Earth is exceeding dry already, and rain much wanted if God please to send it. pd. 5s. Chief rent claimed by Lady Bulkeley out of Tyddŷn y Rhôs.
26th.  The Wind S.W. blowing very high & cold, made some showers in ye Evening, and the Wind was allayed, and a little warmer.
27th.  The Wind W. & something cold, but the Sun shining clear all day and warm out of the Wind.I Visited my plantation at Gâllt ddu to day, and had them relieved from Briers & Gors that rubbed to my trees, I likewise pruned my Elm & Wall nut Trees in the Said plantation, & applied clay to the wounds made in the wall nut trees.
28th.  The Wind N.W. blowing high and excessive cold all day: withall drying up and parching the ground that nothing can come out of it.
29th.  The Wind W. blowing very cold in the morning, but the Evening was moderate : My people all this week are plowing & Sowing Barley. Pd. 2d. for parsnip seeds.
30th.  The Wind S.W. blowing very cold, with a hoar frost this morning. about 3 in the Evening I set out for LLysdulas in My way to ye Session that begins too - morrow - came to LLysdulas by 5. & staid there th[e sw] night.
3ist.  The Wind S. & by W. warm, sun-shiny & fair all day; set out from LLysdulas for Beaumares about 5 in the Evening,& came there by night after the Court was up.

3❍ [this is written vertically immediately below 'April ist.' sw] The Wind E.S.E. moderately calm & warm; went to Court about i a clock; the Swearing of the Grand-jury was put off till too– morrow for want of a Sufficient Number; dined to day at my lodging with my Brother Lewis, and cleared the house of this day and yesterday's reckoning for me and my — Servant which came to 3s. 7d. paid afterwards 5d for Ale at David Wms. the Attorney's house, who sells Ale where formerly Mr Owen Hughes lived at a plentifull and Grand manner——
