May 20th.  The Wind E. & by N. blowing very moderate Sun Shiny fair and warm all day but a great hoar frost this – morning also .
2ist.  The Wind N. & by E. very calm, Sun shiny & hot all this day, but a great hoar frost this morning also.
22d.  The Wind N.E. very calm, sun shiny fair & hot all this day also and the ground exceedingly scorched & the Corn & grass looking but very indifferent.
23d.  The Wind E. and but little of it, but a great deal more than the 3 or 4 last preceding days, sun shiny, hot & scorching all this day likewise ·
24th.  The Wind N. E. blowing moderate, cold & scorching in the morning , & scorching & hot all the day: This Day in a vestry held in this Church it was proposed that John Jones of hav[e sw]n y Micht & Owen David of Minfordd(two Cottagers who had built, or rather who succeeding in such Cottages that were formerly built)should annually provide Marsh Rushes or Morasc to be laid on the floor of the Chancell ^6 times in the year^ in the Severall Seats & benches therein & on the Windows, & also in the Seats in the body of the Church & in all the Windows within such Seats – and that Hugh Owen of Nant yr Eirin Cooper & Nan of Tŷ'n y Wern should yearly six times in the year sweep & make clean the rest of the body of the Church & provide the Comon [there is a wavy line over the 'm' sw] green Rushes to lay on the floor of the same thorout, every time it is so swept; and the Sd. John Jones, Owen David & Hugh Owen ( Nan Tŷ'n y wern being not there) being publickly called upon & asked if they did severally agree to the said proposal; the[n sw] the Sd. John Jones , Owen David & Hugh Owen agreed to perform what had been so proposed as aforesaid in the presence of Such parishoners as were then present, being Mr. Jones the Curate, Mr. Tho: Meyrick, Rob: Owen of Cafnan, Wm. Hughes Bwchanan, John Jones of Cromlech, John Jones of Bwlch, Wm. Rolant of Cefn Gwyn, Wm. Hughes the Miller, Sam: Jones. & John Wm. both of Gwenithfryn, Richd. David of Cae hên, Wm.
