April 28th.  The Wind N. E. & little of it,yet very cold all the morning, but the Evening warmer & Sun shiny: My people all this week were plowing for , and sowing Barley: Paid William Mc. Roan a Scotch Pedlar 3L. 5s. 6d. for linnen Cloath & Stockings bought of him; and Pd. My Sister 2i pound Interest money. Set this day Carreg Lefn Tyddyn y Fronwen for the term of five years to Thomas Sion David at the rent of i7 shillings to comence at Allsts. next ·
29th.  The Wind N. E. blowing moderate, generally Sun shiny, & scorching all this day ·
30th.  The Wind E. blowing fresh & cold, Sun shiny & scorching much all this day also .
May ist.  The Wind E. blowing very fresh & exceeding cold this morning and yet no hoar frost to day nor yesterday, was Sun shiny and very scorching all this day likewise: Paid Mary Jones of G[a sw]redog 36s. 6d. for a Pig (& not very fat neither ) to be killed for Bacon. he gave it up afterwards to the present Ten ant. [this is written in the margin opposite the following paragraph sw]    Set this Day to Robert ab Richard LLwyd My Tenement of Carreg Lefn for five years to comence at Allsts. next at ye yearly rent of five & thirty shillings, together with the usuall presents of 2 Pullets at Shrove Tide & 6 Chickens in the Month of May at the latest, and two days reaping .
2d.  The Wind E. blowing high, Sun shiny & extream scorching, & very cold in the morning & night & no dew falling these severall nights Pd. 5d. for a quarter of Pound of Salt Petr.
3d.  The Wind E. blowing high, exceeding cold in the morning,Sun- shiny & very Scorching weather all this day likewise.
4th.  The Wind E. very calm, Sun shiny & warm all this day & a fine dew fell last night·
5th.  The Wind N. &by E. blowing fresh cold & very scorching all this day, but sun shiny & clear; To Day I finished sowing Barley haveing sowed at least i5 Peggets (my Man having kept no exact acct.) pd. two lads for harrowing Seaven weeks 7s. and my poor horses are mightily worn, the ground being so very hard ·
