August 5th September 5th.  Dark,dull,close & cloudy ­– weather in the Morning & ye Wind S.W with a pretty good 

●4.∣ [this is written vertically, with the moon opposite this line sw] gale, my people bind Oats to day, & some of them employed in carrying the Rye to Coydan Barn, & likewise the wheat, what little was of it, there not being of either half the quantity as other years, there being of the Rye but 36 shocks, & of Wheat but 25. a poor Market to day at LLanvechell, every body body being busy about their harvest.

6th.  The Wind S.W. very rusty & cloudy in the Morning, about 8 it cleared up & blew fresh, very cloudy afterwards, & some rain about 12, my – people binding the Oats at Cefen y Groes, & reaping Cae tŷ yn y LLŵyn made severall showers in the Evening afterwards, the Night fair & clear.
7th.  The Wind S.E. raining long before day, left off about 6 but very cloudy. about 7 it thundered & lightened & rained excessively till after 10 when it cleared up, No Sermon to day, tho there was one due, about 3 in the Evening I set out for Beaumares Sessions- begun to rain upon us at Glas-grug, & continued to rain till we cam[e sw] to Rhôs fawr, fair for some time, rained afterwards from Red Wharf to B[iw sw]mares, Sat with Cos[o sw]n Morgan of Henblas, &Mr.Edmund__ Meyrick from 7 till ii, in my Lodgings, then went to bed, pd 5d for ale that Night.
8th.  The Wind E.N.E. fair & clear in the Morning, & blowing fresh, grew dark & cloudy about 9 but made no rain, Sun shiny & fair afterwards all the day, Dined with my brother Lewis & others at ye house of Magdalen Gallaway, pd. 15d for Meat & drink, pd afterwards 18d for Punch ’twixt parson Hughes & mySelf.
9th.  The Wind N.N.W. blowing fresh & fair, The Grand Jury which by Rule of court were to be called & <to> attend the 2d day of the Sessions did not meet this Sessions till the 3d. indulgeing the foreman – John Owen of Presaddved who could not attend ye second day - they & severall other Gentlemen dined at Barn hill to day – pd 13d. at Diner at my Lodging.
