February the 4th. The Wind  E. calm, cold freezing weather & generarlly Sun shiny with a great hoar frost this morning — The Priest preached on i: Tim: Chap: 6th. & the 18, &19th. verses. 
5th.  The Wind E. blowing very moderate, haveing freezed pretty hard last night & freezing all this day : gave 6d. to a raffling 
6th.  The Wind E. calm, Sun shiny & fair haveing freezed very hard last night as it does all this day; the Evening was generally dark & overcast: gave Martha Williams the Daughter of my old friend Richard Williams late Parson of LLanfachreth who is going to Carnarvon to be bound Apprentice to a Mantua Maker, I gave her I say 2s. 6d.
7th.  The Wind E. & by S. calm dark & cloudy with a mizling rain for a great part of the day, yet the frost is not half melted : pd. John Owen 5s. for clean ing the two Clocks
8th.  The Wind E. calm, sun shiny & fair all day, haveing freezed— last night also with a hoar frost likewise: about 10 I set out for LLanerchymedd to Join my Brother Lewis to hear offences agst. the laws of Excise which detained us so late that we staid at LLanerchymedd this night.
9th.  The Wind E. & by N. blowing very moderate, haveing freezed very hard last night and a prodigious hoar frost this morning, I chose to walk home than ride which I did till I came to Rhôs Gôch & rid home the rest of the way: it cost me at LLanerchymedd 2s. & 9s. I sent from thence to Holy head [Nesta Evans gives 'Holyhead' sw] to pay for 2 Windsor chairs that came from Dublin.
10th.  The Wind E. & by N. calm, clo[u sw]dy & dark weather haveing freezed very hard last night also, and a great hoarfrost, but made mizling rain frequently this day that thawed some of the frost: and rained a great deal in the night, but it freez'd again before day: Pd. 10s. 6d. for 36 pound weight of hard sope, & pd. Thomas Prichd. the Cooper's Bill being 8s. 9d. & sent by him to Wm. Peters of Amlough 5s. 9d. to buy me fine flower in Liverpool.
iith.  The Wind E. & by S. blowing very moderate, and thawing gently all the day ,and generally Sun Shiny, yet it freezed this night also, tho the night was for the most part cloudy and overcast·
