Febr. 13th. The Wind S.W. a Dark Cloudy day, the Sun not appearing from Morn to Night, likewis very raw & cold, yet made no raine – |
14th. The Wind S.W. Dark & very cloudy still weather, a very great Fair to day at LLanfechell, plenty of young horses for harrowing to be sold in this Fair, Pewter, Brass, Shooes, hats, woollen & linnen Cloath in – abundance, money very scarce, no great buying, rained very hard sometimes this night – bought a quarter of Veal for. 1s.& a Side of Lamb of R.O is. [1/- sw] |
15th. The Wind N.W. blowing fresh & very cold, to day I finished digging of holes to plant out the great Maple (vulgarly called Sycamore) Aspen & poplar &c. |
16th. The Wind S.W. moderately warm & dry, no sermon to day, tho a Sermon sunday, about 2 in the Evening it begun to rain, & rained all the Evening & I believe most part of the night. |
17th. The Wind S.S.W raining all day long without intermission & I believe most part of the Night, nothing else extraordinary– |
18th. The Wind N.W. very cold, & some showers of rain, dug up my – trees of Poplar, Aspen & Ab[e sw]el [presume 'Abele' sw] for my spring plantation - |
19th Ash Wednesday The Wind E. moderate weather & cloudy, dug up the same trees to day & Some Great Maple, planted ye Maple in Cae tŷ'n y LLŵyn |
20th. The Wind E. a clear & very cold day, planted in Cae Tŷ'n y LLŵyn some Maple, Abele, Aspen & Poplar, the Middle part of the Row I must plant with Alder being exceeding wett. planted likewise within the great meadow under ye house a Row of the same trees & 4 Black Cherrie[s sw] Trees – |
21st. The Wind E. very cold, & a dark cloudy day, carryed Dung into ye Garden all this Day, & oppened a Pit for ye hot Bed – |
22d. The Wind S. dark weather & blowing very high with some—— showers, finished the hot Bed & covered it with a glass Frame– by i: in the Evening & Just before the great rain fell which contin-ued very hard for 3 hours, pretty fair in ye Evening afterwards —— |
