December 20th.  The Wind S. blowing moderate, Sun Shiny, fair and clear for the most part & dry all day, and freezed pretty hard, & a great hoar frost this night: Pd. Rhys ab Richard Prys of Cemlyn – i5s. 6d. for half Pegget of wheat: & paid Rhys Bentir 4s. for a Sr. Loyn of Beef & 9d. for a small quarter of veal . Paid [J. sw] Ifan 3L. in part of this year's wages that ends at Candlemas next.
2ist.  The Wind E. very calm, but cold & raw, dark & overcast all day– Paid Owen Hughes'the Smith's bill to this day being i0s. 6d.
22d. The Wind E. & tho blowing very moderate, yet was very cold & raw weather, cloudy & dark all day: The Priest preached on i.Cor Chap iith. & verses 23d. 24th. & 25th.
23d.  The Wind E. very calm, cloudy & overcast & exceeding cold all day, but brought down no snow as it was expected .pd. Robt. Evans the Tawyer [a tawyer is an oil dresser who worked with heavier skins, like horse and deer, making them into buff leather sw] of LLanerchymedd 4s. 6d. for dressing 2 hides & pd. 2s. 6d. Duty for the same.
24th.  The Wind E. and blowing very moderate,but exceeding cold, yet made some Sun Shine this day.
25th.  The Wind S.S.W. calm, cloudy & dark for the most part & exceeding cold weather, yet it made no rain till night: about i20 persons comunicated [there is a cupped line over the 'm' sw] here this day at LLanfechell Church : gave 6d to Holy head Post boy .
26th.  The Wind S. W. & blowing very moderate, yet cold & attended with frequent Showers of very heavy rain: gave 6d. to ye Post boy of LLanerchymedd. & distributed  iis. to poor people of these neighbouring parishes·
27th.  The Wind S. & blowing very moderate, Sun shiny & fair, but exceeding wet after the rain yesterday: Paid Ellin Lewis i8s.being all her Sumer's [there is a curlicue over the 'm' sw] wages, & gave her besides 2s. 6d. 
28th.  The Wind S.E. very calm,and the greatest hoar frost this morning as it made these severall years, & tho it was Sun- Shiny, yet the hoar frost was not cleared till noon: gaveis. [1/- sw] to Porthaethwy ferrymen.
