October 2d.  The Wind N.E, very calm, sun-shiny & fair all day, To day my people begun to carry Sand since the harvest.
3d.  The Wind S.E. calm, sun-shiny, fair & pleasant in ye morning — about noon it grew cold & raw & continued so ye rest of the day, To day I planted out my flower Roots I had from Cos. Morgan, such as Jonquill, Tulips, An[æ sw]monies, Ranunculus & Auriculas, haveing made borders of well composed mixtures for them, covered also my Asparagus Beds with fresh Pidgeon's dung .
4th.  The Wind S.S.E. beginning to rain about 12 <last>at night, rained very hard about 4 & untill 6, & all the morning was a mizling dirty rain. it rained much harder in the Evening, and continued raining till 9 at night. Pd. the Constable of LLanddeusant 1s. 9d. being the Shire-hall Tax for my Lands in that parish .
5th.  The Wind N. blowing fresh & cold, but dark & cloudy in the morning . & continued so all the rest of the day, mad<e> some slight showers in the Evening, & grew very cold before night . The Parson preached on Num -bers Chap. 23d. & ye last part of the 10th. vers. beating still in ye old road.
6th.  The Wind N.W. blowing great storm before day accompanyed with showers of hail, it continued the wind very high all the rest of the day and prodigious cold, pd 8d. for a piece ofTimber at Cemaes, & 2d. for ale.
7th.  The Wind N. cold, dark and cloudy all day, accompanyed with frequent showers of hail & Sleet; I have seen to day a great deal of Corn out, some at Pen y Groes fawr, & 2 & 3 fields at Cae Bryn y Gwŷdd, some unbound, & some in shocks.
8th.  The Wind N.W. very cold, with frequent Showers of hail most part of the day, The Markett at LLanerchy – -medd very high, Barley being sold there for 20s a pegget. Pd. 3s. 6d. for a piece of Beef weighing 28L. at 1d.2/1 a pound pd. 4s. for shalloon & trimings for a winter Coat.

The Wind E.N.E. very calm, sun-shiny and fair all day my people to day & yesterday, digging Gors, & carrying – them home, giveing the horses that were carrying Sand a little rest 2days a week.
