March 1st.  the Wind S.S.W. a very cold, dark, cloudy day, it came   to S.E. in the Evening, and the Air clear & Serene, my people still at the same work of plowing, [at sw] the work in the Garden is sowing some Carrot Seeds, Lettuce & cresses.
2d.  The Wind E.N.E. a mild, calm & clear morning, the Evening dark & cloudy, they carry Dung into the Garden all this day.
3d. The Wind S.E. something windy, dark & cloudy all day yet made no rain, to day I begun to harrow Oats, my people still plowing. work in the Garden to day, is Sowing Onions, Leeks, & some more Carrot Seeds, planting Garlick & Eschallots, sowing Endive & Lettuce Seeds likewise –
4th.  The Wind N.W. blowing fresh & very cold, rained mighty hard this morning before day, but dryed very fast all day afterward pd. 8d for 4 Bull-rush Cushions for the use of my seats in Church pd. 1d. for spinage Seeds, a mighty poor market for flesh to day at LLanvechell, there being onely 2 Lambs, & those not fit for eating 
5th. ❍4. [this is written in the margin immediately below '5th.' sw] The Wind E. blowing very fresh & cold, drying apace. Garden work to day is dressing the borders & new planting them with Savory, Thyme, & Hyssop, to day begun to fork the Asparagus beds, Sowed Spinage seeds to day –
6th.  The Wind N.W. calm & very fair all day long. The Parson did preach on Ps. 122d. vers.ist. one of the most superstitious Ser– -mons that ever I heard, vainly endeavouring to maintain the absurd Doctrine of consecrating Churches & Church – yards, & denouncing God's Anger & Judgment on those yt should convert them to any other use, but that of meeting in them to say prayers, when he very well knows that – there are in this Countrey it self above 40 Church tofts [there is a footnote on p.86 of Nesta Evans's Religion and Politics in Mid-Eighteenth Century Anglesey that this word has been interpreted as 'toft' and not 'loft' by Prof. Thomas Parry sw] yt are fallen to ruins long ago, & the prophane Neighbours & owners of the ground about them have made no scruple of carrying away the stones for makeing stone walls &c-
