March 7th. The Wind S. cold in the morning wîth a very great hoar frost; all the rest of the day fair, warm, sun shiny; clear & pleasant. My people finished harrowing the small Oats this morning, and begun in the Evening to harrow great Oats. Pd. Abraham Jones's Bill being 1L. 9s. 4d. |
8th. The Wind N. very clear & fair all day, but freezed last night and a very great hoar frost this morning: The Parson preach ed on 2 Tim: Chap 2d. vers. ist. still as before. |
9th. The Wind W. a cold breeze with a great hoar frost & some small frost this morning, but sun shiny, clear & fair all the rest of the day: at night there was a prodigious thick, and very stinking fog, very offensive to such as went out; gave 6d. to a woman that brought Muscles from — LLysdulas. |
10th. The Wind N.W. in the morning, came in the Evening to the E. the Air keen & sharp accompanyed frequently with a cold fog, & continued dry and scorching all day. |
11th. The Wind N. blowing cold; made a hard frost <this> night, & very great hoar frost; all this day was Sun shiny and fair. |
12th. The Wind variable all this day changeing from E. to W. a great frost this morning also, and a very great hoar frost; Paid to Richd. Parry's wife 1s. 3d. for spinning a pound of hemp. |
13th. The Wind N.W. a prodigious hoar frost this morning also; & some frost, the Sun all the day very hot & clear, as it is every day; pd. 6d. for fish; paid also to Hugh Wms. Church Warden of LLanddeusant 11s. for Church Mize for my lands there. |
14th. The Wind variable, changeing from S. in ye morning to N.W. & Settled afterwards in E. my Servants all this week employed in Sowing & harrowing great Oats in Bodelwyn & Brynclynni which fields are likewise all Sowed with hay seed, Sowed likewise in Caeu'r Iarlles in Brynclynni Cowslip Seeds, & here & there some Meliot seeds amongst the hay Seeds. Paid 5s. fee farm rent to Lady Bulkely out of Tyddyn y Nôs, & pd. 1s. 3d for spinning a pound of hemp. |
