December 21st.  The Wind S. blowing high cloudy &dark all day, yet made no rain till 8 at night from which time it rained I believe till near day . for I was awake almost all night, tho I think that my throat is not quite so sore at before.
22d.  The Wind S. blowing fresh, cloudy & dark close weather, nor could not be said to rain, nor yet to be dry , but the Air seemed very moist; My throat still very painfull when I swall- -ow any thing .
23th.  The Wind S.S.E. in ye morning, and some frost & a great hoar frost, it came due E. in the Evening, & begun to freeze long– before night; Gave my Son (who sets out to day for Chester to take Coach for London once more to be called to ye bar ) 4 pounds 12s. to bear his Charges in the same Journey.
24th.  The Wind S. E cloudy & dark & very raw weather all day My throat ( blessed be god) much easier & better now.
25th.  The Wind S.E. in the morning, come to S.W. in ye Evening the weather cloudy and dark, cold & raw withall. pd. 2s for 4 wedges of Soap weighing about 5 pound.
26th.  The Wind S.W. blowing fresh & prodigious cold & raw all day, especially the evening, gave LLanerchmedd - Post Boy 6d.
27th.  The Wind S. blowing fresh with a mizling rain all the morning; made a great deal of rain in ye Evening, &I believe it rained all night.
