Febr. [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] December 27th.  The Wind S.W. blowing very moderate and raining very hard till about 8 when it left off; the rest of the day was cloudy and dark, cold & raw & made a great deal of rain in the night about 8. gave 1s. amongst the Girls that were here playing Cards wîth Nancy & Gracy Wright.
Mar. [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] 28th.  10● [this is written vertically in the margin below '28th.' sw] The Wind W. blowing very moderate, Sun Shiny. fair, and not very cold for the time of the year; gave 6d. to the ferry men of Porthaethwy, & 6d. to Bangor Post boy.
Ap. [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] 29th.  The Wind S.W. in the morning and raining very hard from 4  about 4 in the morning till near 9 when it brought the wind to W. the rest of the day was dry, but cold & raw, gave the ferry men of Moel y Don 6d.
May [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw]30th.  The Wind S. W. and blowing moderate, but cloudy & dark with frequent showers of rain, very wet & dirty : pd. Robert ab William Owen of LLanfaethly 36 shillings & 9 pence for his share for building the Walls of the Cow house at — Cnewchdernog & mending the house there.
June [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] 31st.  The Wind S.S.W. blowing very moderate, Sun Shiny fair & warm all the morning for the time of the year; the Evening was cold, dark and cloudy and the Wind high especially in the night.
July [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] January ist.  The Wind S. W. blowing fresh & raining hard from midnight till 9 in the morning, dry from that time till near 4 in the Evening when it made heavy showers of Sleet, but of no long continuance the night was fair & the Moon bright: Lent my Mother 20s.
Augt. [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] 2d.  The Wind S. blowing fresh, especially in the Evening & night it blew high, all this day and night were cloudy and dark; but made little or no rain.
Sep. [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] 3d.  The Wind W. & by S. blowing fresh, cloudy, dark weather, cold & raw all day, with some rain about noon, but generally it was dry.
Oct. [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] 4th.  The Wind W. blowing moderate, & not cold, Sun shiny in the – morning, but the rest of the day was generally cloudy & dark, & some little rain about noon: I was to day to see the Harbour of Cemaes which the last great flood has quite spoiled, the Extraordinary fr[e sw]sh that ran down at that time thro Pwll y Wrâch carryed off all the Sand in the bottom of the River, & tumbled one upon another such heaps of Stone[, sw] that it really looks frightfull, so that no ship nor Boat can tye there.
