March 18th.  The Wind S.S.W. made severall showers of Hail before day, but from 6 in the Morn– -ing till ii; it made an incessant heavy rain accom – -panyed with a great storm of Wind, about ii it left off and the wind was much abated, it is so extraordinary wett that my people cant do any thing upon the farm every Ditch is full of water; there's no hedging, and as for plowing; that's given over above a week ago – ☞ [this symbol is in the margin, opposite this line sw] To day I Set Pen y Bont, and Weyn fawr to Hugh Owen of LLanddygwel quam diu se bene gesserit ['as long as he has done well ' according to Google Translate, but CORRECT LATIN TO FOLLOW sw] at the rate of Eight pounds Twelve shillings and Six pence . his Term to begin at Allsaints next .
19th.  The Wind N.W, dark, cold, & cloudy, about 10 it rained a very heavy shower of above an hour's continuance.☞ [this symbol is in the margin opposite this line; it is drawn over what appears to be a moon symbol placed in the wrong place and then smudged over sw] the Evening fair, mild and pleasant, to Day I Set to Richard ab William Sion Prys that Tenemt. anciently called yr Orsedd Gôch, now called Tyddyn y Creigia for the Term of Eleven years at the rate of three pounds ten shillings a year with the usuall presents of 2 Pullets, 6 Chickens, & 2 days reaping & to work 6 Days in the harvest for 3d a Day —
20th  ⎮8●  [this is written below '20th' sw)  The Wind E. in the Morning, and rained very heavy from 6 till past 7, then it settled at N. N. W, very dark and cloudy, made severall showers afterwards till noon, but all the Evening fair, dry  & temperate, No Sermon to day, tho one due in course, a great Wakes at LLanbadrick & playing foot-ball as usuall.
21st.  The Wind N.N.W, Sun - shiny and fair in ye Morning with some frost on the water, and a very great hoar frost, grew dark & cloudy about 8, cleared up afterwards and continued fair and dry all the rest of the Day.
