October ist.  The Wind N. E. & little of it, Some sun shine, but gener _ally cloudy & dark weather yet continues very dry.
2d.  The Wind E.S. E. blowing moderate, cloudy & dark weather most – part of this day & very dry: Sent by Martha my house Maid i2s. 6d. to pay Green the Brazier for things I had bought of hîm .
3d.  The Wind W. and very calm, and raining without intermission a small rain from betwixt i2 & i this morning till far in the night; sent Wm. Griffith the School Master of this place to day to Chester to — bring home my Daughter who I expect will be there toomorrow night, & sent with him iL. 6s. to bear her & his expences home having already returned her i60 pound since she came to England in Novr. last; besides Great Sums [there is a wavy line over the 'm' sw] I paid for returning the money
4th.  The Wind S. very calm, cloudy & overcast allmost all this day__ and not drying at all: Pd. is. [1/- sw] for whitening of Cloath .
5th.  The Wind S. blowing very fresh, or rather high, cloudy & dark & attended with a dirty mizling rain almost all this day: pd. Shadrach ifan is. [1/- sw] for killing a Porker and cutting it up.
6th.  9❍ [this is written vertically in the margin below '6th.' sw] The Wind S. blowing moderate, cloudy & dark weather almost all this day with frequent showers of mizling rain this day also; Pd. Wm. Bevan 5s. for labouring work.
7th.  The Wind S. blowing moderate, Some Sunshine,but generally cloudy & dark and made no rain this day·
8th.  The Wind S. blowing pretty fresh, cloudy & dark, but dry all this day: Pd. Robert Wms. of Hen Bont i9s. 6d. for a Calf:
9th.  The Wind S. blowing pretty fresh, cloudy & dark with some ^small^ showers of rain in the morning; Paid Price the Appothecary's Bill being 2L. 8s. in full.This Evening my Daughter came home from Chester, to which place She came from London,
i0th.  The Wind S. blowing moderately , pretty dry in the morning, but the Evening almost altogether rainy.
