❍12 [this is written in the margin opposite this entry sw] March 22d.  The Wind E. blowing fresh and exceeding – cold early in the morning cloudy and dark, a little Sun- shine about 9, but all the rest of the day was cloudy & dark and very cold, yet continued without raining: Sowed to day Cauly flower & Cabbage Seeds and likewise Carrot, Sowed likewise Sallad seeds, & Severall Sorts of flower Seeds.
23d.  [there is a vertical line in the margin below '23d.' opposite this entry sw] The Wind E. in the morning, blowing moderate,but cold, it came to S. S. E.  in the Evening, blew high, especially in the night, about 9 it began to rain, & rained pretty hard about 10, & how long afterwards I do not know: Sowed to day Pease & Beans for the 2d. time, Sowed Savoy Cabbage, the green prickly Spinage, the White broad Spinage, Parsley, Sellery, and more Sorts of flower Seeds·
24th.  [there is a vertical line in the margin below '23d.' opposite this entry sw] The Wind S. blowing fresh, but not cold, & generally dark and cloudy, but made no rain till the fall of Night, & rained a good deal in the night: finished to day plowing for the first time, but have not had a Harrow out this year: Sowed To Day some Cowslip Seeds in Cae'r LLorriau amongst the Mole hils here & there. And thus Ends the year 1748·
