May ist. The Wind S.W. some mizling rain in the Morning,& dark & cloudy, about 1 I set out for Cwtt y Dwndwr to deliver Mr. M. Lewis and order from my Mother to Heaton an Attorney at London to pay my Son there some money, came to Cwtt about 3 found Maurice Lewis gone this morning about 10, in which case I am forced to sent it by Post too-morrow: called at Bodewryd to see Dr. Wynne in my way home, staid there till 9.gave ye Servant is. [1/- sw] rained hard this night, but calm & warm. |
2d. The Wind S.W. very cold, & raining hard all the morning; and with very little intermission all day & night. the ground extream wet. |
3d. The Wind S.W. very cold in the morning, but dry,my people are employed in the makeing a Pinfold, it being. too wet to plow. |
4th. The Wind S.W. blowing fresh & warm all this day, my people plow to day, but cannot harrow, but [stay sw] it to dry a little,a poor – markett to day at LLanfechell, pd. 7d. for a Quarter of Veal. |
5th. The Wind N.W. cloudy & foggy all the Morning, cleared up about 3 in the Evening, warm & fair, my people to day finish plowing for Barley – gave 6d to Hugh ab Robert Lewis born in the this parish, that had gone out of the Countrey 35 years ago, being in Spain & Portugal all ye Wars of Q. Ann .& came to the Countrey about 2 months ago . |
