September 5th.  The Wind W & by S. calm, dark & cloudy- and raining from before 6 in the morning more or less till 3 in the Evening;dry from that time till 6, and raining afterwards all the rest of the day & all, if not most part of the night: Pd. 5d. for fish .
6th.  The Wind W. & byS. and blowing moderate; this day was dry with - some Sun shine, almost all the Barley that I have being reaped and unbound, was exposed to all the last rain, so that I have people to day stubling of it to dry: Paid 2s. for a Side of Mutton .
7th.  The Wind W. in the morning and blowing moderate; about ii it came to E. & so to N. E. till it settled at last at N. blowing all the while - very fresh and very cold: I have a great many people to day binding the Barley that was stubled yesterday .
8th.  ●3 [this is written vertically in the margin below '8th.' sw] The Wind N. W. blowing fresh, but generally cloudy and dark, but dry and blowing exceeding cold all day : The Priest preached on Matt. Chap: 5th. vers. 44th.
9th.  The Wind W. in the morning. blowing very fresh & exceeding cold, about noon it came to S.W. blew fresh and made a mizlaing rain from 4 in the Evening till near 7 at night. Paid my Sister Catherine five pounds in part of her Interest money.
i0th.  The Wind W. blowing fresh and cold in the morning;The Evening milder,but all the day was cloudy and dark , yet it continued dry.
iith.  The Wind S. W. blowing fresh, cloudy & dark all day : attempted twice to make some rain, about 10 in the morning, and 2 in the Evening, but made a smart shower about sun set: Carryed in to day the last of my- Corn: May God give it his blessing!
12th.  The Wind W. & by N. blowing fresh and very cold, but dry all day & also some sun shine which we have not had for severall days last past.
13th.  The Wind W. & by N. blowing very fresh and exceeding cold, yet it was generally Sun Shiny and fair most part of this day: pd. 2s. for a hind quarter of Veal & a fore quarter of Mutton.
14th  The Wind S. blowing high yet with some Sun Shine & continued dry till 3 in the Evening when it begun with a thick mizling rain which ended about 5 in a very heavy long heavy shower of large rain, which quite allay'd the wind & made little or no rain the rest of the day and night·
15th.  The Wind W. & blowing very moderate, Sun shiny fair and dry all this day.
16th.  The Wind S. blowing very moderate & generally Sun shiny & dry, except one shower it made about i in the Evening: pd. Richd. Jones for work that he & his man did at the Mill from Augt. 1st. to Sepr. i4th. 2 pound 18 Shillings- besides meat drink & lodging.
